Bonnie A. Spriggs

Bonnie A. Spriggs, 77, of rural Afton, Oklahoma, formerly of rural Oswego, Kansas, died at 8:16 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born June 10, 1935, in rural McCune, Kansas, to Eli Olen and Nellie Leah (Carson) Czapansky. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in rural McCune and later attended Labette County Community High School in Altamont.

She and Roland D. Spriggs were married on October 5, 1951. Following marriage, they lived in Parsons before moving to Lawrence, Kansas, where they owned and operated a concrete construction company. In 1969, they returned to Labette County where they lived until moving to Afton, Oklahoma, in the early 1990’s. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1995.

In earlier years, she helped with the family business and had also worked as a housekeeper. She enjoyed fishing, reading her bible, and in March of 2012, had the opportunity to travel to Israel. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include: Two Sons – Roland “Ron” Spriggs and wife, Patti rural Afton, OK Todd Spriggs and wife, Tiffany rural Afton, OK One Daughter – Belinda Matthews Perry, OK Eight Grandchildren Fourteen Great-Grandchildren One Sister – Norma Sprague and husband, Carroll rural Parsons, KS Sister-in-law – Geraldean Czapansky Oswego, KS Numerous Nieces and Nephews

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Czapansky; and son-in-law, Jim Matthews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Oswego Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience to sign the register until 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The casket will remain closed.
