Alan D. Ellis, 56, of Parsons, died at 8:19 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital - St. Francis in Wichita.
He was born April 20, 1958 in Garden City, Kansas to Leon Cecil and Loretta Colene (Wadsworth) Ellis. As a young boy he moved with his family to Cherryvale, Kansas where he grew up and attended school.
He and his friend, Bud Simmons, opened an antique store in Independence and, in 1987, they became co-owners of Main Street Collectibles in Parsons until he became ill in 2011.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale. Alan loved collecting, especially Imperial Cape Cod glassware. He especially enjoyed spending time with his dog, Honey Bun.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Ellis; and one sister, Janette Ellis.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
