Alexander Dean "Xander" Cochran, age 8, of rural Galesburg, passed away at his home, Friday, April 5, 2013, from complications from epilepsy. After a great day spending time with his family, Xander fell asleep and opened his eyes in heaven.
Xander was born June 9, 2004, in Joplin, Missouri, to Joshua Dean and Elizabeth Jean (Stammer) Cochran. As a baby, his family moved to rural Galesburg where he had lived since. Xander was currently in 2nd grade at Bartlett Grade School where he especially enjoyed math and science. He loved karate, hunting, fishing, playing video games, and his dog, Trixie. His favorite color was green.
Xander attended the Thayer Christian Church and was baptized September 30, 2012, by his father, at the Oswego Christian Church.
Xander eagerly awaits the heavenly arrival of those who love him most including his parents, Joshua and Elizabeth Cochran, two brothers, Gryffin Karl Cochran and Truitt Joshua Cochran, and one sister, Brinley Jenae Cochran, all of the home; maternal grandparents, Karl and Pamela Stammer, Joplin, MO; paternal grandparents, Bill and Renee Cochran, rural Oswego, KS; paternal great-grandparents, Howard and Donna Sykes, Greenfield, MO; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Xander was greeted in heaven by his great-grandparents, Don and Verona Stammer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Oswego Christian Church. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the church.
