Alfred E. "Al" Brown, 78, of rural Oswego, passed away at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, November 28, 2010, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born June 28, 1932, in Parsons, Kansas, to Cecil L. "Pete" and Ida Belle (Murray) Brown. As a young boy, he lived in Neosho County and attended Oak Grove School. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1952 through 1954.
He settled in rural Oswego over 30 years ago and was employed by Grandview Products in Parsons from 1976 until retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting and woodworking. He especially enjoyed spending time with good friends and bird watching while sitting on his porch.

Al was surrounded in love by Bob and Martha Weil, Kym Petersen, Matt Weil, Garrett Weidner and Christina Haraughty at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil L. "Pete" and Ida B. Brown.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The casket will remain closed.
