Alfred L. Leon, 73, of Parsons, passed away at 9:40 a.m., on Friday, December 20, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Alfred Louis Leon was born on February 8, 1946, to Julian R. and Socorro (Lopez) Leon in Cherryvale, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Cherryvale and Parsons. As a young man, Alfred moved to Tulsa where he met and married his wife, Marie. The couple then moved to Parsons where they made their home.
He worked for Gary Lamb Construction and Individual Mausoleum. For twenty-five years, Alfred took great pride his position as a maintenance supervisor for the city of Parsons until his retirement.
His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and he was very proud of his Mexican heritage. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, building, tinkering and going to the casino.
On August 13, 1965, Alfred and Marie J. Alley were united in marriage. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, on June 23, 2019; his parents; one brother, Daniel Leon; four sisters, Delores Bernal, Luz Martinez, Socorro Leon and Romana Rodriguez.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 7:30 p.m., following the rosary.
