Alice Beck

Alice E. Beck, 97, of Parsons, passed away at 12:40 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

She was born January 4, 1920, near Dennis, Kansas to Ben and Mae (Lusk) Myers. She grew up in the Dennis area where she attended Timber Hill Grade School and Dennis High School.

On August 5, 1936, she and Walter Wilton were married. Following marriage, they continued to live in the Timber Hill area. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1949 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

On June 26, 1951, she and Andy Beck were married. Following marriage, they moved to Parsons where she lived until recently entering the nursing home. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2004.

Through the years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Beck's Garage and Body Shop and Used Cars. Alice was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed animals, flowers, and quilting.

One Son – Richard Wilton                                                     rural Erie, KS

One Grandson – Stephen Wilton                                            Kansas City, MO

One Sister – Pauline Chapman and her husband, Raymond      Knoxville, TN

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Wilton, on June 6, 2017; and her grandson, Michael Wilton, on October 17, 1991.

Private graveside services were held at Springhill Cemetery near Parsons under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
