Alice M. "Casey" Dunlay, 84, of Parsons, died at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 21, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family. She had been in her usual health until recently.
She was born June 3, 1925, in Parsons, to George and Stella (Gouvion) Casey. She lived with her family in St. Paul as a child and moved to Parsons during her third grade year. She was a 1943 graduate of Parsons High School and eagerly participated in organizing class reunions. In 1945, Casey earned the title of USO Donut Queen and as a result traveled to New York City and Washington, D.C. where she was crowned by then Vice-President Harry Truman.
She was employed by the Katy Railroad from 1943 until 1953 and later by Day and Zimmerman in the Safety Department at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant for more than twenty years.
She was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She and James J. "Jerry" Dunlay were married on October 11, 1947, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2003.

Bridget Dunlay and Riley Dunlay
One Sister – Marlene Trenkle Leawood, KS
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons where the family will receive friends immediately following the Rosary.
