Alice Leora Lee, 71, of rural Parsons, died at 12:12 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health. She was born November 26, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa to Albert B. and Alice Olive (Mael) Noe. She grew up and attended school in Iowa where she graduated high school. In the mid 1970's, she moved to Parsons where she had lived since. Through the years, she worked as a cook at various nursing homes until retiring in 2001. She was affiliated with the Living Church of God. She loved irises and her cats and enjoyed canning and gardening. She and Laren D. Lee were married January 12, 1984 in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives of the home. In addition to her husband, survivors include: One Son – Travis Lee Maryland One Brother – Richard Noe and his wife, Wanda Altamont, KS She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Burgener. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Ft. Scott National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
