Alma "Louise" Kepford, 85, of Chetopa, died at 9:05 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Chetopa Manor.
She was born December 22, 1929 in Rolla, Kansas to Lewis Wesley and Iona B. (Bolin) Riley. As a young girl, she grew up in Chetopa where she attended school and was a graduate of Chetopa High School.
On November 21, 1948, she and Jessie C. Kepford were married in Oswego, Kansas. Louise loved being Jessie's partner in their daily lives and being involved in her children's day-to-day activities.
Through the years, Louise was employed by G. B. Manufacturing, Huntsman, Inc. and Lyle's Foodtown, all in Chetopa. She also assisted her husband in custodial work at Chetopa schools.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chetopa where she served as Sunday School teacher, clerk, and organist for many years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, tending to her flowers and plants, sewing, cooking, playing games, and working jigsaw puzzles.

Five Grandchildren – Kimberly Garvin and husband, Eric; Kenyon Diehl; Kelsey Chewning and husband, Travis, Megan Garcia and husband, Angel; and Alysha Coon and husband, Mike
Nine Great-Grandchildren – Tristin and Page Garvin; Caleb, Jocelyn and Demitry Diehl; Sophie Chewning; Dalynn, Deanna and Riley Coon; and Brantley Chewning due in August
One Brother – Lewis Richard Riley Normal, IL
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Kepford, on May 3, 2012; and one sister, Marie Fair, on December 7, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church.
