Amy Rosetta Schroder, 85, of Independence, Kansas, died at 4:05 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, at Montgomery Place Nursing Home in Independence.
She was born November 16, 1927, in rural Altamont, Kansas, to Frank and Etta May (Meyers) Hinkle. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in rural Labette County.
She and Arthur Triebel were married. They later divorced. She and Walter Paul Schroder were married. They later divorced. She raised her family in the rural Mound Valley area and, in 1979, moved to Independence where she had lived since.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Independence and had recently attended the Crystalbrook Church in Independence. She loved flowers and gardening, and enjoyed embroidery and quilting.

One Son – Duane Triebel and his wife, Kay rural Elk City, KS
Two Daughters – Etta Welch Independence, KS
Donna Engelmann and her husband, Larry rural Independence, KS
Seven Grandchildren – Duane Triebel, Jr., Kristie Hawley, Carla Hill, Stephanie Jones, Julie Welch, Elisha Dilbeck and Beth Swanwick
Twelve Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters; and two sons, Leon Triebel and Monte Schroder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Crystalbrook Church, 801 W. Chestnut Street in Independence. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time, Thursday, at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. Friends may call at their convenience from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
