Anna Shaw-Eaton, 89, of St. Paul, passed away at 10:35 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.
She was born July 3, 1926 in Piqua, Kansas to Joseph and Anna (Collins) Lero. As a young girl, she moved with her family to a farm near St. Paul where she grew up and attended Bloomer School and was a graduate of St. Francis High School.
She and Louis Wendell Shaw were married in 1948. Following marriage, they moved to the family farm near Galesburg where they lived for many years and raised their four children. They later divorced. In 1973, Anna moved to Erie where she lived until meeting the love of her life, Clarence "Salty" Eaton. In 1994, they married and lived in Afton, Oklahoma until his death in 1997. Following her husband's death, she returned to Erie to be near her family.
In earlier years, Anna worked as a seamstress at Fred Ronald Manufacturing Company in Parsons and later as a certified nurse's aide at Arkhaven Nursing Home in Erie.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Home Demonstration Unit. Anna enjoyed cooking, quilting, and needlework. Her family was her passion and she never tired of helping others in any way.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe "Bud" Lero, Meryl Lero, Tom Lero, and Norbert Lero; one sister, Sr. Margaret Lero; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Boles.
Following cremation, the funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton, Oklahoma.
