Annie M. Nelson

Annie M. Nelson, 68, of Parsons, died June 10, 2014 at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected. She was born November 8, 1945, in Champigneulles, Lorraine, France to Alcide Nelson, Sr. and Marcelle Eugenie (Deutsch) Nelson. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Los Angeles where she grew up and attended school. She continued to live there until moving to Parsons in 2006. She enjoyed playing cards and Farkle. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She and Willis Powell were married. They later divorced. Survivors include four daughters, Yvetta Moore, CA, Bridgette Sutton, Springfield, MO, Karen Powell, Parsons, KS, and Roxanne Powell, Salina, KS; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers, Alcide Nelson, Jr., Ronald Nelson, and Rodrick Nelson all of California and one sister, Odessa Jackson, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
