Arlene L. Kennedy

Arlene L. Kennedy, 57, of Cherryvale, passed away at 10:20 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Labette Health in Parsons.  Her death was unexpected.

She was born on February 16, 1962 in Sonora, California to Manuel Salazar and Ada (Schwoerer) Salazar.  She grew up in Sonora and attended schools in Sonora and Turlock, California.  Arlene was a certified medication aide and worked in several health care facilities throughout her life.

She and Donald R. "Don" Kennedy were married on February 16, 1980 in Carson City, Nevada.  They moved to Dennis, Kansas in 1996, and later to Cherryvale in 2008.

Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family and especially with her nieces.  She loved to travel and cherished being with her husband and accompanied him while he worked as an over the road truck driver.  She also enjoyed her animals and belonged to a Pomeranian dog club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Ann Sears.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.  No services are scheduled.
