Arno L. Testerman

Arno L. "Onnie" Testerman, 83, a lifelong resident of Bartlett, passed away at 8:20 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2019 at Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.

Arno was born January 19, 1936 in Bartlett, Kansas to Arno and Barbara Marie (Trissell) Testerman. In 1952, Arno graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont.

From 1957 to 1962, he worked at M & S Tool at South Coffeyville. He then was employed at McCullie Cook in Oswego until 1965. At that time, he went to work for Funk Manufacturing, now John Deere Manufacturing, until retiring in 1995.  He was a member of Elks – BPOE Lodge No. 527 in Parsons.

On January 25, 1958, he and Martha Faye Stapleton were married in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple lived in Bartlett until purchasing their farm in 1976 south of Bartlett where they have lived since. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Randy Leon Testerman and his wife Deborah Ann, of rural Bartlett, KS; three granddaughters, Carmen, Emily Faye and her husband Heath Layton, and Randi Lynn Testerman; great grandchildren, Paden Lay and his wife, Stormy, Loren LeAnn Lay, Cameron Lynn Lay, Deakyn Hendrix, and Saylor Layton; and great-great-granddaughter, Macey Darlene Lay.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2019 at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett.  The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Bartlett Christian Church.
