Audrey M. Robison

Audrey M. Robison, 70, of Chetopa, passed away at 4:08 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Freeman West in Joplin.

Audrey Mae Thompson was born on December 25, 1955, to James William and Betty Lavon (Souders) Thompson in Columbus. She grew up and attended school in Columbus, graduating from Columbus High School.

In the 1980’s, Audrey returned to school earning an associate degree in Early Childhood Development from Labette Community College. Using her knowledge and love for teaching young children, Audrey owned and operated the Curiosity Center in Chetopa. She had also worked at Chetopa State Bank for a time.

She was an active and devoted member of the First Christian Church of Chetopa. Her dedication to the church included directing the church’s Vacation Bible School for many years.

Faith and family were the center of Audrey’s life. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Sewing and gardening were two of her favorite hobbies.

On February 7, 1983, Audrey and Terry G. Robison were united in marriage. He survives of the home.

Kerry Clark and her husband, Kerry, of Columbus, Kansas

Maggy Robison of Chetopa, Kansas

Nine grandchildren

Two great-grandchildren

Her mother – Betty Thompson of Chetopa, Kansas

Three sisters – Sandra Baldridge and her husband, Howard, of Battlefield, Missouri

Lois McCord and her husband, Tony, of Oswego, Kansas

Linda Doyle of Independence, Kansas

She was preceded in death by her father, James Thompson.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2026, at the First Christian Church of Chetopa.
