Barbara E. Chenoweth, 70, of Parsons, died at 10:52 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
She was born January 26, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to Eddie Lewis and Lila Katherine (Copeland) Stoneman.
On January 10, 1969, she and Marion Edwin "Sonny" Chenoweth were married at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. While living in Maryland, she worked as a police dispatcher in the Prince George County sheriff's department. Following his discharge from the United States Air Force, they moved to Parsons where they have lived since. While living in Parsons she worked as a certified medication aide at various nursing homes and also as a waitress. She enjoyed ceramics.
Survivors include her husband, Marion "Sonny" Chenoweth, of the home; a sister-in-law, Deana Stoneman, Waldorf, MD; a brother-in-law, Jerry Chenoweth and his wife, Diane; Overland Park, KS; three sisters-in-law, Mary Whitaker and her husband, Dave, Mound Valley, KS, Wanda Knight and her husband, Donald, Lawrence, Ks, and Ella Jump and her husband, Dick, Topeka, KS; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug Stoneman and Wayne Stoneman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
