Barbara R. Worthington, 86, of St. Paul, formerly of Stark, Kansas, passed away at 4:20 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2016 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.
Barbara was born November 19, 1929 in Cottage Grove Township, Allen County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Wendell Harold Theodore Johnson and Lenore (Collins) Johnson. Barbara attended schools in the surrounding area and graduated from Elsmore High School.
Barbara and Raymond M. Worthington were married April 24, 1949 in Moran, Kansas. She and Ray were longtime members of Friends Home Lutheran Church in Savonburg, Kansas. Barbara was also a member of the Church Altar Committee. For many years, she enjoyed sharing her lovely flowers with the congregation.
Barbara was a devoted wife and mother. When Ray became disabled from a fall injury in 1985, she cared for her husband throughout the rest of his life. She also worked part-time at the local bank. Barbara loved her church and greatly enjoyed being a fan of the Kansas University men's basketball team.
Barbara and Ray lived near Stark until they both became residents of Prairie Mission Retirement Village in 2008. Ray preceded her in death on January 19, 2009.

Four Grandchildren – Heather Worthington, Ashley Worthington, Danielle Martin Luman and Ashley Martin
Four Great-Grandchildren
Numerous Nieces and Nephews as well as Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold L. Johnson and Leon D. Johnson; and a sister, Beverley Ard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at Friends Home Lutheran Church, 3797 Arizona Road, Savonburg, Kansas. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time, on Saturday, at the church.
