Belinda J. "Lindy" Overman, 54, of Bluejacket, Oklahoma, died at 5:35 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2012, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Lindy was born January 17, 1958 at Kansas City, Kansas to Jerry and Retha Jean "Jeanie" (Doherty) Wilson. She grew up there and attended school until moving with her family to Chetopa, Kansas as a teenager. She continued to live in Chetopa until moving to Oklahoma about two years ago.
Lindy earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Missouri Southern University and had taught English at the Labette County High School in Altamont for several years. She had most recently worked at the Chetopa Senior Center. Lindy especially enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren. She also enjoyed decorating.
Lindy was united in marriage to David Paulin on July 10, 1975. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1976. She was then married to Bob Overman, they later divorced.
She is survived by a son, Jeremy Paulin and his companion, Amy Storm of Chetopa; three grandchildren, Jade Paulin, Finlee Paulin and Ranie Paulin; her companion, Brady Jarrett, of the home; two stepsons, Joel Jarrett of Pittsburg, Kansas and Dustin Jarrett of Denver, Colorado; three step-grandchildren, Derby McReynolds, Delaney Mae Jarrett and Brady Ryan Jarrett; three brothers, Darren Wilson and his wife, Tonia of Chetopa, Brad Wilson and his wife, Elizabeth of Columbus, Kansas and Dustin Wilson and his wife, Tammy of Oswego, Kansas as well as one sister, Dana Smith and her husband, Steve of Hepler, Kansas.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lindy was preceded in death by twin infant sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Oakhill Cemetery in Chetopa. The family will receive friends at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to a fund for her grandchildren's education. These donations may be left at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
