Benny R. David

Benny Rich David, 84, of Independence, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Benny was born on August 24, 1941, to James and Johnnie (Liggett) David in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Wichita.

At the age of 13, David started his first job. From there, he worked in many different positions throughout his life. The position he held includes; construction worker, laborer, and truck driver for over 50 years until his sickness forced him to retire in June 2026.

His Christian faith was very important to him. He helped pastor in Salina, Concordia, El Dorado and many other communities. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool and spider solitaire on his computer.

Two sons – Johnny David

Joseph David

Two daughters – Yolanda David

Jamie Noble and her husband, Doug

Two grandsons – Christopher Privitt

Roger David

Three great-grandchildren- Alana and Lainey Privitt, and Jack Noble

Step-brother – Jimmy McDaniel and his wife, Linda

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Terry David.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2026, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Union Cemetery in Bartlett. Visitation will be the hour prior to the funeral service.
