Beryl D. (Wheat) Fultz, 74, of rural Parsons, died at 3:05 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Parsons Good Samaritan Center. She had been in failing health.
She was born June 2, 1932, in Parsons, to A. V. and Audrey E. (Manners) Wheat. As a young girl, she attended Spring Hill Country School. In 1949, she graduated from Labette County Community High School in Altamont.
On September 23, 1950, she and Darrel D. Fultz were married in Parsons. He survives of the home. She and her husband owned and operated Fultz Strawberries for 20 years; their customers would come from miles away to pick their own strawberries. She enjoyed painting and ceramics and through the years had taught art and ceramic classes through Labette Community College. She also enjoyed playing the piano and guitar. She and Darrel took great pleasure in opening their home to foster children. She was the first patient at the Parsons Community Health Clinic.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2006 at the Center Bethel Church.
