Bessie A. Eagan, 98, of Washburn, Missouri and former Pittsburg and McCune resident died at 1:15 a.m., Monday, September 18, 2006 at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center Emergency Room in Pittsburg. Her death was unexpected.
She was born in Beaver County, Oklahoma on December 6, 1907 to George Bryan and Elizabeth (Strohr) Bryan. She grew up and attended school in the Oklahoma Panhandle area. She was married to Emery Clyde Eagan on October 30, 1927. They were married for 64 years before he passed away on July 5, 1992. Her husband was an ordained minister with the Church of God affiliated with Anderson, Indiana. They lived in various states while serving in the ministry. She loved gardening and raising flowers.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty A. Eagan and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God 1801 A Street Northeast, Miami, OK 74354. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons is in charges of arrangements.
