Bette J. Baldwin, 85, of Parsons, died at 10:23 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Labette Health. She had been in failing health.
She was born October 15, 1925, in Olathe, Kansas to C. W. and Lula (Laughlin) Thurston. She grew up and attended school in the Johnson County area and was a graduate of Stanley High School.
She married Val L. Baldwin. Following their marriage, they lived in Johnson County where she worked in bookkeeping and moved to the Parsons area in the late 1960's where she had lived since.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons.

Two Sons – Gary L. Baldwin and wife, Margie Parsons, KS
Greg L. Baldwin and wife, Susan Basehor, KS
Four Grandchildren – Brian Baldwin, Robert McAlexander,
Jeff McAlexander & Tom Bemberger
Eleven Great-Grandchildren
One Sister – Mildred Ohmes Monrovia, CA
She was preceded in death by her husband, Val Baldwin, on April 25, 1960; one brother and three sisters.
Following cremation, burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
