Betty L. Caylor

Betty L. Caylor, 87, of Parsons, passed away at 5:58 AM, Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Presbyterian Manor Nursing Home.

Betty was born at Fredonia, Kansas on November 8, 1931 to Ralph Wesley Key and Aline Clementine (Scanel) Key. She grew up and attended school in Fredonia.   Betty was united in marriage to John M. Caylor on May 21, 1949 at Bentonville, Arkansas. In the early 1970s, they moved to Parsons, Kansas where they lived since. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Betty worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide and Certified Medication Aide for several years at Parsons area nursing homes including the former Heritage Home Nursing Home, Elmhaven East Nursing Home and the former Westbrook Manor Nursing Home in Parsons where she retired.

Betty enjoyed life to the fullest! She especially loved watching her children's sporting events and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and being outdoors gardening.

Five Sisters: Betsy Thornton of Carthage, Missouri, Bernadine Pound of Fredonia, Kansas, Bernetta Johnson, Becky Kingsbury of San Antonio, Texas and Bonnie Barron of Fredonia, Kansas.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Caylor, Jr. who passed away in 1987 and Rick Caylor who passed away in 2005 and a daughter, Linda Newton who passed away in 1994 as well as five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 PM, Monday.
