Betty L. McKinney, 91, of Erie, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at her home.
Betty Lou Westerfield was born on September 21, 1928, to Claude William and Twyla Lorraine (Brasher) Westerfield in Russelville, Arkansas. When Betty was young, her family moved to West Plains, Missouri, where she grew up and attended school. In 1942, she moved with her family to Erie, where she has lived ever since.
She was a bonded abstractor and worked for the privately owned company, Neosho County Abstract, whose office was in the court house in Erie. In 1993, Betty retired and enjoyed a number of activities, including playing with her dog, sewing, and canning. She and her husband even rode across country on their Gold Wing motorcycles.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie.
On June 30, 1947, Betty and Robert Andrew McKinney were united in marriage at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2000.

Two daughters: Arleen McKinney, of the home
Kimberly Myer of Iola
Four grandchildren: Morgan Matthew Mundell, Micah Benjamin Mundell, Michaela Diane Myer and Miranda Diane Myer
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McKinney, on July 3, 2000; one daughter, Claudia Lorraine Mundell, on September 2, 2017; and her parents.
There will be a private family graveside service at East Hill Cemetery in Erie.
