Betty L. Roberts

Betty L. Roberts, 83, of Erie, passed away at 12:27 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

She was born June 30, 1935 in St. Paul, Kansas to Phillip and Mary (Paulie) Born. As a young girl, Betty grew up and attended school in St. Paul.

On July 30, 1952, she and Max D. Roberts were married at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Following marriage, the couple farmed in the Shaw area. Through the years, Betty assisted her husband in the operation of their family farm, raised AKC dogs, and groomed and boarded dogs.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie and its Altar Society. She enjoyed working outdoors and traveling with her husband. Betty especially enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Brenda Blecha (Donnie) of Erie, KS

Traci Endicott (Troy) of Chanute, KS

Twenty Great-Grandchildren

One Sister – Mary Ann Duling of Girard, KS

Numerous Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, seven sisters, and a great-grandson, Marshall Keller.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Friday, at the church. The family will receive friends immediately following the rosary at the church.
