Betty L. "Meme" Testerman, 93, of Parsons, went home to meet her Lord on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Betty Louise Kimrey was born on May 26, 1932, in rural Altamont, to Cecil Ray "Ray" and Edith Louise "Sis" (Rexwinkle) Kimrey. She moved with her family to rural Craig County, Oklahoma, where she attended Plain View Grade School. After graduation, she and her family moved to Edna, Kansas, where she attended and graduated from Edna High School. While in high school, she worked in her Grandma Rexwinkle's café.
On November 17, 1951, she married Arthur W. "Art" Testerman. They made their home in Bartlett. Into the union, two daughters were born, Connie and Denise.
Over the years, Betty worked in the central telephone office as a switchboard operator, at Glenn Berry making Army pants, and for USD 506. She was also a devoted housewife and mother. Betty donated many hours riding the Head Start bus, devoted many days caring for her grandchildren before and after school, and loved to cook. The rule at her house was if you ate there, you were not allowed to leave hungry. She loved making cinnamon rolls and no-bake cookies.
