Betty Lou Wintle, age 87, of Parsons, Kansas, passed away from an aggressive cancer on December 10, 2017. She was surrounded by her family whom truly adored her every day of her life.

She was the daughter of Frank and Daisy May (Knisley) Cook from Coffeyville, Kansas. She was married on May 30 th , 1951 to Robert Jean Wintle, Sr. He was the love of her life and preceded her in death on January 9 th , 2000.

Betty was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, caregiver, friend, and the most beautiful human being you could have ever met. When she wasn't caring for her children and grandchildren, she was a talented cosmetologist and did riveting on airplanes for Continental Can in Coffeyville, Kansas where she met her loving husband. She lived a life full of love and was very passionate about her family and friends. She was fierce, fabulous, and forgiving. Betty was an inspiration to many people throughout her life.

Betty is survived by two brothers, Jim and spouse Maxine Cook, and Raymond and spouse Louisann Cook, one sister, Shirley Roberts and spouse Jim Roberts, all of Coffeyville, KS; and two children, Sherry Payne and spouse Bill Payne of Joplin, MO and Robert J. Wintle, Jr. and spouse Diana Wintle of Parsons, KS. Grandmother of Tammy Payne and spouse James Monroe of Joplin, MO, Tara Payne Monhollon and spouse James Monhollon of Joplin, MO, Travis Payne and spouse Jana Faye Payne of Ozark, MO, Emily Wintle of Joplin, MO, Jeanann Willis and spouse Ryan Willis of Parsons, KS, Bobby Wintle and spouse Crystal Wintle of Stillwater, OK, and Amy Clawson and spouse Richard Clawson of Joplin, MO. She is survived by great-grandchildren Cheri Shue of Joplin, MO, Hudson Payne of Ozark, MO, Emma and Emerson Wiseman of Joplin, MO, Ember Clawson of Joplin, MO, Elliot and Emory Wintle of Stillwater, OK, and Elly, Cyan, Edyn, Evi Willis of Parsons, KS; and one great-great-grandchild Zaidyn Clark of Joplin, MO.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, other siblings, and a grandchild, Megan Wintle.

Her visitation and celebration ceremony will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Forbes Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, in Parsons, Kansas with the celebration ceremony beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Robert J. Wintle, Sr.

Memorials are suggested to the Labette Health Auxiliary or the American Cancer Society. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
