Beverly Ann Humphrey, 81, of Chetopa, passed away Sunday, April 23 2017 at the Oswego Health and Rehab in Oswego, Kansas.
She was born October 23, 1935 at Coffeyville, Kansas to Robert and Mildred Heile. She grew up and attended school in Coffeyville and graduated from the Coffeyville High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Eugene M. Humphrey on August 2, 1954. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1992.
Following their marriage, Eugene and Beverly Ann lived in Oklahoma and later in California. They later returned to Oklahoma until moving to Chetopa, Kansas in 1979 where she had lived since. Over the years, she worked at the former Glen Berry Sewing Company and later the Oswego Nursing Home where she worked as a dietician.
She loved doing crocheting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed gardening and painting watercolor paintings. She also loved being with her family.
Survivors Include:
One son, Robert Humphrey, three daughters, Dorothy Crook, Rose Scott and Johnna McDaniel, all of Chetopa; eleven grandchildren, Rickie Humphrey, Shannon Humphrey, Melinda Crook, Belynda Finley, Christopher Hamby, Tabitha Hamby, Teila Meredith, Joshwa Humphrey, Ann Thomas, Michele Conner and Serenity McDaniel. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in data by three brothers, two sisters, two daughters, Linda Humphrey and Carol Humphrey as well as one grandson, Mark.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Fairview Cemetery east of Chetopa. The family will receive friends at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and these may be left at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
