Beverly A. Kimrey

July 18, 1935 — February 21, 2011

Beverly A. Kimrey, 75, of Edna, died Monday, February 21, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Edna.

She was born July 18, 1935, in Edna, Kansas, to Arthur Leslie and Effie Arlene (Storm) Stine. She grew up and attended schools in Edna and was a graduate of Edna High School.


On December 21, 1952, she married Charles L. "Charley" Kimrey in Edna. Following marriage, they lived three years in Bossier City, Louisiana, until moving back to Edna where they made their family home. Upon returning to southeast Kansas, she worked in various garment factories before becoming Edna city clerk where she worked nine years before retiring in 2000.

She was a member of the Bartlett Christian Church and ECO's (Edna Civic Organization). She enjoyed quilting, painting, gardening, and being involved in community events. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Jennifer Isaacs
Seven Great-Grandchildren – Jacob, Carter and Adilyn Horton Caleb Pierce; Charli Renae and Jay Irving Alloway; and Kylie Lear
Two Sisters – JoAnn Long and husband, Bill Coffeyville, KS
Judy Lowery Danbury, CT

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and husband, Charles "Charley" Kimrey, on May 9, 2008.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011, at the Bartlett Christian Church. Burial will be in the Edna Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the church. Friends may call at the church after 1:00 p.m., on Thursday.
