Billy Dale Westervelt, 58, entered into rest at 8:29 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
He was born February 3, 1948 to Dale and Carmen Westervelt in rural Altamont. He grew up on the farm where he loved animals and nature. Billy attended Altamont Grade School and graduated from Labette County High School in 1966. He was a member of the Altamont United Methodist Church.
He was a friendly, polite, courteous person and always wanted to help other people. He enjoyed sports and was a good bowler. Through the years, he had won several trophies and patches while competing in bowling. Billy was an avid Kansas City Royal baseball fan. He loved his family and was a very special person to all; he brought a stronger faith and a richer love to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Altamont United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
