Brenda J. Gouvion

Brenda J. Gouvion, 63, of Arma, passed away at 7:36 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022, at Freeman West in Joplin.

Brenda Jean Kelley was born on May 30, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas to Quentin and Delia Ethel (Brown) Kelley.  She grew up and attended schools in Wichita and graduated from Wichita West High School in 1977.  In 2008, she moved to Arma, Kansas where she had lived since.

Brenda loved sewing and doing other handcrafts.   She also loved flower gardening, cooking, riding motorcycles and playing bingo.  Taking care of her kids and grandkids brought Brenda her happiest moments.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Patriot Guard Riders with her husband, James.

Brenda was married to James Gouvion on November 2, 2020 in Miami, Oklahoma.

Brenda is survived by her Husband, James, of the home; three daughters, Delia "Dee" Stafford (Brian Larson) of Girard, Kansas, Star Pierce (Joey) of Weir, Kansas and Sha Gouvion of Chanute, Kansas; three sons, John Stafford of Crocker, Missouri, Brandon Gouvion of Arma, Kansas and Devon Gouvion of Girard, Kansas; one brother, Dale Kelley (Patricia) of Arlington, Texas

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Andrew Larson, one brother, Michael Slusser and an infant sister, Barbara Jean Kelley.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul with Fr. Theordore Khin officiating.  Burial will follow at the St. Francis Cemetery.  The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, at the St. Francis Church with a visitation following the rosary.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion Patriot Guard Riders and these may be left at the church or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, PO Box 374, Parsons, KS  67357.
