Carl E. Evans, 52, of Salina, died at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the home of his brother, Pastor Chuck Evans, in Edna. He had been in failing health.
He was born November 24, 1954, in Colby, Kansas, to John Hardy and Alice Louise (Kilmer) Evans. He was a graduate of Yates Center High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era and later retired, in 1994, with a rank of Chief E7, after having served his country for 22 years. For a time, he worked as a security guard at a correctional facility and was also a truck driver for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Curtis Evans.
Following cremation, a memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Edna, Kansas.
