Carl Graham, 99, of rural Galesburg died at 10:11 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, Kansas.
He was born January 28, 1915 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Calvin and Charlotte (Welch) Graham. He moved with his family to Coldwater, Kansas in 1918 then to Cabool, Missouri in 1921 and to Thayer, Kansas in 1925.
He and Mildred A. Neeley were married on August 15, 1940 in Iola, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2004.
Mr. Graham farmed in the rural Galesburg and Thayer area all of his adult life.
He joined the Thayer Christian Church in 1927, then in 1972 he joined the Galesburg Christian Church.
Survivors:
One son – Robert Graham and his wife Charlotte of Galesburg, Kansas
Two grandsons – Richard Graham of Meade, Kansas
Larry Graham and his wife Julie of Shawnee, Oklahoma
Six Great-grandchildren
Jacob, Kaylie, Darian, Dylan, Chance, and Tenlee.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son Lloyd in 1976, two brothers, Bill and Neil, and three sisters, Lucy Degenhart, Charlotte McFarland, and Mary McFarland.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Galesburg, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, Kansas. These may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, Kansas 67357.
