Carl M. Hess

Carl M. Hess, 78, of Altamont, passed away at 10:47 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health.

He was born April 28, 1939 in Lyons, New York to Lester and Marie (Camp) Hess.  He grew up in Lyons where he attended school and graduated from Lyons High School in 1957.  From 1960-1963, Carl served in the United States Marine Corps.

In 1970, he moved to Kansas while attending the University of Kansas and had lived in Kansas since.  He earned a Master's degree in social work and had also earned credentials from the Academy of Certified Social Workers.

He and Bonnie L. Hase were married June 25, 1988 in Osawatomie, Kansas.  Following marriage, they moved to Parsons where they lived until moving to Altamont in 1997.

He enjoyed computers, reading, and restoring cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Hess.

Following cremation, the family will hold private committal services at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, Kansas under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
