Carleton Johnson, 80, of Parsons, passed away Thursday morning, May 14, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Carla Pawlus, in Parsons. He was born February 2, 1935 in Concordia, Kansas to Charles Bernard and Naomi (Chritton) Johnson. Carleton grew up and attended school in Concordia where he graduated from Concordia High School. From 1952 through 1956, he attended Kansas State University where he majored in Accounting and earned his Bachelor's degree. In 1961, he earned his Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. In 1966, he moved to Parsons where he served as President and CEO of the First National Bank. From 1976 through 1983, he was President and CEO of Great Plains Beverage, Inc. in Parsons. He then served as President and CEO of Tolle Manufacturing, Inc. in Chanute from 1985 through 1992. From 1992 through 1995, Carleton served in the capacity of Business Consultant while living in Parsons. In 1995 through November of 2001, he served as President and CEO at SolidsFlow, Inc. in Fort Mill, South Carolina. From November of 2001 through July of 2002 he served as a consultant at Schenck AccuRate in Whitewater, Wisconsin. In July of 2002 to the present, he was involved in the development of real estate. In the past, Carleton attended St. John Episcopal Church. He was a member of Elks – BPOE Lodge No. 527 in Parsons. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing and sharing treasured stories from those good times.    He and Sharyn L. Kendall were married in 1999 and lived in Muleshoe, Texas for several years, where they enjoyed family and a special circle of dear friends.  Following Sharyn's death, Carleton moved back to Parsons in July of 2014 to be closer to his children and their families.  Carleton was loving spending time with them, as well as rekindling old friendships.   Survivors include: One Son – Kent Johnson and his wife, Cynthia of Wichita, KS One Daughter – Carla Pawlus and her husband, Dave of Parsons, KS His Former Wife - Glenda of Parsons, KS Five Grandchildren – Alishia Buendia, Nicole Johnson, Britt Dunlap, Dane Dunlap and Mishelle Aust Seven Great-Grandchildren – Aaleya, Avaree, Aniston, Nova, Noah, Trevor and Maddy One Brother – Howard Johnson of Claremore, OK In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kelli Johnson, in 1991; and one great-grandson, Gerison Buendia. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
