Carmen Lopez, 92, of Parsons, died at 7:15 a.m., Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Parsons.
She was born on March 19, 1925 in Parsons to Guadalupe and Belen (Arroyo) Lopez. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School. In 1966, she moved Los Angeles, California. She worked in a clothing store and a laundry service there for several years before returning to Parsons following her retirement. Carmen provided care for her parents and several family members in their later years.
Carmen was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed her pets.
She is survived by one nephew, Charles Martinez of Wichita, Kansas, two great-nephews, Robert Martinez and Anthony Martinez, and one great-niece Cheyena Martinez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jose Lopez, and four sisters; Consuelo Lopez, Luz Lopez, Josefina Lopez, and Anna Marie Martinez.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
