Carolyn S. Trimble, 80, formerly of Melrose, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Hamilton, Ohio.

She was born on October 7, 1942, to Carl and Sue Trotter in Texas City, Texas.

On March 2, 1967, Carolyn and Rodney L. Trimble were united in marriage in Texas City.  While Mr. Trimble was serving in the United States Air Force, Carolyn taught school in several states.

In 1981, the family moved to Kansas, where they lived in Coffeyville for a year until moving to Chetopa in 1982.  Carolyn lived in Chetopa until moving to Ohio after Rodney's passing on August 5, 2021.

Survivors include:

Three sons – Donald Trimble and his wife, Evelyn, of Hamilton, Ohio

Rodney Trimble, Jr. of Melrose, Kansas

Steve Trimble and his wife, Starla, of Chetopa, Kansas

Two daughters – Karin Trimble of Chetopa, Kansas

Erin Trimble with significant other, O.C. Castorena of Independence, Kansas

Seven grandchildren – Daniel Trimble; Brittany Baiza; Wyatt Trimble; Olivia Trimble; Trae Wilson; Rena Smith; and Alyssa Rogers

17 great-grandchildren – Gavin Trimble; Connor Trimble; Riley Trimble; Jaydyn Wilson; Gage Wilson; Kingzley Baiza; Nevaeh Rice; Tymberlynn Rice; Harlan Smith; Behr Smith; Taygan Trimble; Kodi Trimble; Paisley Trimble; Drake Rogers; Aria Rogers; Memory Castorena; and Annaley Castorena

One sister – Joyce Kaemmerling

One brother – Charles Trotter

Numerous nieces, nephews

Many other family members and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rodney L. "Rod" Trimble, Sr.; one granddaughter, Ashley Castorena; and one brother-in-law, Raymond Kaemmerling.

There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Chetopa. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the service begins.  Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa.

Memorials are suggested to Chetopa High School to benefit a scholarship for students studying education.  These may be left at or mailed to the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 346, Chetopa, KS  67337.
