Catherine L. "Cathy" Bush, 73, formerly of Parsons, passed away at 3:37 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Anthology of Olathe Senior Living in Olathe, Kansas.

Catherine Louise Hickey was born on November 18, 1946, to John Joseph and Betty Jane (Lucas) Hickey in Columbus, Kansas. When Cathy was a young girl, she was adopted and raised by her grandmother, Jessie (McLeod) Lucas. She grew up and attended school in Columbus, graduating from Cherokee County Rural High School in 1964.

Over the years, Cathy worked as a bartender in the Parsons area.  She was a Christian and was a lifetime member of the Brown -Bishop, VFW Post 704 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Elks Lodge 527.

An excellent pool player, Cathy won numerous trophies playing pool. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting.

Cathy and Richard L. Reasoner were married. The couple later divorced. On December 1, 1975, she and Thomas James "Jim" "T.J." Bush were married at the First Baptist Church in Parsons, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2014.

Survivors include:

Three sons – Richard Reasoner and his fiancé, Pam, of Independence, Kansas

Rex Reasoner and his wife, Marta, of Olathe, Kansas

Roy Reasoner and his wife, Jennifer, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota

One daughter – Denise Bush of Excelsior Springs, Missouri

Sixteen grandchildren

Seven great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, T.J. Bush; two sons, Raymond Reasoner, who died in 1997 and Thomas Bush, who died October of 2010; one daughter, Lesta Sutherby, who died July of 2010; and one great-grandson, Raymond A. Reasoner, who died in 2018.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2020, at the McCune Cemetery in McCune for the interment of Cathy and T.J.

Memorials are suggested to the Brown-Bishop VFW Post 704 or the Parsons Elk Lodge #527. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
