Cecilia D. "Diane" Chapman

Cecilia D. "Diane" Chapman, 50, of Parsons, died at 9:51 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Labette Health. She had been in failing health. She was born October 15, 1960 in Parsons, Kansas to David A. and Yvonne D. (McKnight) Mead. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons and was a 1979 graduate of Parsons High School. She and Allen Chapman were married April 20, 1979 in Parsons. Following marriage, she worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, the Parsons Sun and Wal-Mart. She was also serving currently as an Avon representative. She was a member of the Glory Barn Church in Parsons. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, spending time with her grandson, visiting with her Avon clients and was always willing to help others. Survivors include: Husband – Allen Chapman of the home Three Sons – Joshua Chapman Parsons, KS Joseph Chapman Parsons, KS William Allen Chapman and wife, Rachel Overland Park, KS Grandson – Noah Chapman Overland Park, KS Mother – Yvonne Mead Parsons, KS One Brother – Paul Mead Parsons, KS One Sister – Cynthia Coester Brazilton, KS She was preceded in death by her father, David Mead. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Glory Barn Church in Parsons.
