Chad D. Stangle, 32, of Thayer, died at 10:32 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009, in the Emergency Room at Labette Health. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.
He was born April 29, 1976, in Parsons, Kansas, to Gary Lee and Sharon Mae (Moore) Stangle. He attended schools in Altamont and was a 1994 graduate of Erie High School. While in high school, he worked at the Fireside Inn in Thayer, and later at the National Garment Factory in Chanute. For the past 12 years, he was employed by Individual Mausoleum Company in Parsons as a forklift operator.
He was a gunsmith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending farm shows. He also collected knives, guns and farm toys.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Fisherman's Club.
He and Kathryn M. "Marie" Ingalsbe were married October 15, 2005, in Parsons. She survives of the home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
