Charlene Michelle Bode, lifelong resident of Parsons, Kansas passed away on Saturday July 25, 2020, after losing her battle to cancer at Labette Health in Parsons. Charlene was born in Parsons on January 28, 1973 to her parents Denny Lee Dietsche (deceased) and Marcia "Gale" Murphy. She attended Parsons High School.
Charlene had enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, being a stay at home mother helping raise her kids and various cats, dogs, and birds whose company she enjoyed. She looked forward to the birth of her first grandchild. She worked for a time at Casey's General Store and telecommunications.
She married her husband, John Bode, on June 26, 1992 for 28 years. Charlene had three children in that time; Michael Bode, Joshua Bode, and Heather Bode. While her children were in school, she often helped with projects, homework, and participated in all their activities. She would often do her best to help those in need if it was in her power to do so.
Charlene was preceded in death by Merlin "Wayne" Myers, grandfather; Agnes Hazzelet, grandmother; Charles Dietsche, grandfather; Dorotha Proctor, grandmother; Denny Lee Dietsche, father; Dale "Mike" Myers, uncle; and Larry Dietsche, uncle.
Her memory is kept by her husband, John Bode; Marcia "Gale" Murphy, mother; Julie Dietsche, sister; and her children Michael Bode, and his wife Hillary Bode, Joshua Bode, and Heather Bode as well as her soon to be born grandchild Ryan Bode.
Family and friends will be invited to visit on Thursday July 30th, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home located at 405 Main Street. They are also invited to a service celebrating Charlene's life on Friday July 31st, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery.
