Charles H. "Chuck" Mccauley

August 9, 1938 — February 8, 2015

Charles H. "Chuck" McCauley, 76, of Overland Park, Kansas, and formerly of St. Paul, Kansas, passed away at 3:11 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015 at St. Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park.

He was born August 9, 1938 at Village of Lodi, Ohio to Holmes "Bud" McCauley, Jr. and Dolores Marie (Nunnink) McCauley. The first few years of his life were spent in Ohio before moving with his family to St. Paul where he attended school and graduated from St. Paul High School.

Following high school, he served in the United States Navy from 1957 through 1961. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked as a truck driver and later as a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines for nearly 12 years. For most of his adult life, Chuck worked as an over-the-road truck driver and was the owner/operator of his own trucking business for many years.

He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Overland Park. Chuck was a founding father of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States while participating in rodeos and especially enjoyed team roping with his friends.

He and Frances M. (Paulie) Craft were married September 4, 1999 in Overland Park. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one stepson, Martin Craft, Washington, D.C.; two stepdaughters, Michele Burkett and her husband, Kent, Olathe, KS and Monica Manzella and her husband, Frank, Lenexa, KS; five grandchildren, Franchesca, Lucas, Aftyn, Tyler and Blake; one brother, Greg McCauley, AZ; and two sisters, Betty Scott, Dennis, KS and Patricia Mann, Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bill McCauley.

Following cremation, a memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in St. Paul. The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, at the church. The family will receive friends at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, immediately following the rosary, in Parish Hall.
