Charles A. Cramer, 93, of Mound Valley, died at 6:11 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Labette Health in Parsons. He was born January 7, 1921 in Garber, Oklahoma to Leonard "Len" and Eva "Maye" (Matteson) Cramer. He grew up and attended school in Garber and was a graduate of Garber High School. In 1943, he entered the United States Army Air Corps and returned to Oklahoma in 1946 upon his honorable discharge. On May 13, 1944, he and Golda M. Meier were married in Breckenridge, Oklahoma. In 1947, they moved to Mound Valley where they farmed for many years and raised their family. In addition to farming, he had worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, Hartwell Dozing, and as a heavy equipment operator for the Labette County Highway Department. He was a member of the Mound Valley Christian Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Survivors include his wife, Golda Cramer, of the home; four sons, Mike Cramer of Mound Valley, KS, Russell Cramer and his wife, Ruthie, Boonville, MO, Warren Cramer and his wife, Margerie, Mound Valley, KS, and Mark Cramer and his companion, Jennifer, of Mound Valley, KS; twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one brother, John L. Cramer; one sister, Wanda Maye Dessenberger; one daughter, Charla Seager, on January 12, 2013; and one granddaughter, Kassia Seager, on May 24, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Mound Valley Christian Church. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Mound Valley Christian Church.
