Charles "David" Davis, 67, of Chetopa, died at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Oklahoma.
He was born October 23, 1938 in Chetopa to George W. and Flossie Lucille (Lancaster) Davis. He grew up and attended schools in Chetopa where he graduated from Chetopa High School in 1957. He participated in all sports and enjoyed them to the fullest.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1962. In 1960, he graduated from Tulsa Barber College. He lived in Belton, Missouri from 1960-1977 where he owned and operated Charlie's Barber Shop. While in Belton, he served as a Belton City Alderman. He then returned to his hometown of Chetopa where he owned and operated D/D's Barber Shop until his retirement.
His hobbies included playing pool, fishing, hunting, attending field trials and training bird dogs, making worms and stink bait. He also enjoyed coaching Little League baseball, umpiring, raising sheep and training his granddaughter's horse, "Macaroni". His memberships included the Chetopa Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
On December 22, 1957, he married Glenna D. McCullough in Chetopa. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobby Joe Davis; and his step-father, Wayne Rupert.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa with Fr. Larry Parker, officiating. Military honors will be given by American Legion Post No. 147 Funeral Detail, Miami, Oklahoma.
