Charles L. "Tuna" Gatewood, II, 45, of Parsons, died at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Wichita. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.
He was born September 20, 1966, in Parsons, Kansas, to Charles L. Gatewood, Sr. and Viola (Williams) Gatewood. He grew up in Parsons where he attended McKinley Elementary School, Parsons Jr. High School and was a 1985 graduate of Parsons High School where he was active in sports. He then attended Ft. Scott Community College where he played football.
He served in the United States Navy and, upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Parsons where he worked at Peabody Tec Tank. He had also worked at Sirloin Stockade in Parsons, as a counselor at the Girard Treatment Center, and was currently employed by the Plaza Grill in Hutchinson.
He was a member of Hamilton Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed softball, cooking and spending time with his family.
He was married to Lori Gatewood in 1988. They later divorced. He and Kristy Hamilton were married November 9, 1996. They later divorced.

Numerous other family members and a host of friends
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Gatewood, in 1993; his grandparents, two aunts, and one uncle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Watson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the church.
