Chester L. "Chet" Kennard

January 13, 1924 — May 14, 2007

Chester L. "Chet" Kennard, 83, of Florence, Montana, formerly of Altamont, died at 1:10 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2007, at the home of his daughter, Marcia Clark, in Concord, California.

He was born January 13, 1924, in Golden City, Missouri, to William and Tirzah (Litle) Kennard. At the age of six months, he moved with his family to Colorado where he remained until entering the service. He was a graduate of Granada High School in Granada, Colorado.

He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, he worked as a plastering contractor in the Roseville, California, area for 42 years before retiring. Upon retirement, he made his home in Florence, Montana, where he had resided for 18 years.

He had volunteered as a 4-H leader with the Eureka Club in Roseville, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Omer Kennard; and one grandson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at the Holycross Memorial Chapel in Yuba City, California.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2007, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont with military honors given by Ft. Riley Military Detail.
