Christa L. Sevart, 73, of Parsons, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Christa Louise Knedgen was born on December 25, 1952, to William Lee and Lorene Louise (Burlingame) Knedgen in Parsons, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from St. Patrick’s High School.
Following high school, Christa began a long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone, starting out as a telephone operator. She retired as an Auto CAD Technician in April 2002. Her work ethic and technical abilities made her a valued employee and co-worker.
On May 6, 1972, Christa and Dana E. Sevart were united in marriage at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2003.
Christa was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons, serving as the Altar Society president for eight years.
An avid sports fan, Christa enjoyed watching KU basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. She loved watching sports, game shows, and Westerns. An outgoing lady with a great sense of humor, Christa had many friends. She shared a close connection with her sisters with many traditions and inside jokes. Christa also dearly loved her sons and grandchildren.

Four grandchildren – Jude, Nora, Quinn, and Rowan
Two sisters – Patricia Wilkerson (Dale) of Owasso, Oklahoma
Stephanie Tuggle (David) of Parsons, Kansas
Two brothers-in-law – Rusty Sevart (Iris) of Belton, Missouri
Ron Sevart (Diane) of Raymore, Missouri
Five sisters-in-law – Cheryl Burk (Leroy) of Thayer, Kansas
Carrie Schmid (Ted) of Lorraine, Kansas
Jackie Hudson (Neil) of Parsons, Kansas
Janelle Weidert (Gary) of Parsons, Kansas
Tammy Sevart of Wichita, Kansas
Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
Her best friend – Marian Johnson of Parsons, Kansas
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dana Sevart; her brother, Vincent Lee Knedgen; and brother-in-law, Roger Sevart.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
