Christopher L. Ahrens

Christopher L. "Chris" Ahrens, 23, of Vinita, Oklahoma, died from injuries sustained in an auto accident Wednesday, December 24, 2008 outside of Vinita.      He was born October 29, 1985 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Lawrence P. and Rose Mary (LaCaria) Ahrens. He grew up and attended schools in Chetopa. He had worked for General Mills and was currently employed at Allied Marine in Langley, Oklahoma.      He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chetopa.      Survivors: Three sons – Trenton Ahrens of the home   Shawn Ahrens of the home    Colton Ahrens of the home    Fiancée - Stephanie Keith of the home    Mother – Rose Mary Ahrens Welch, Oklahoma    Four Brothers – Gene Ahrens and his wife Mary Tucson, Az    Glen Ahrens Tucson, Az    Gary Ahrens and his wife Carrie Eagle, Wisconsin    Stephen Ahrens Welch, Oklahoma    Two sisters – Cindy Porter Welch, Oklahoma    Carolyn Tullis Oswego, KS    Several Nieces and nephews      He was preceded in death by his father on October 11, 2000.      Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego.    Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery in Chetopa.      The family will receive Friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.      Memorials are suggested to the Christopher Ahrens memorial fund.
