Claudia Corrine King, 77, of rural Oswego, Kansas, died at 7:37 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the home of her son in rural Parsons. She had been in failing health.
She was born August 25, 1934, in Idabel, Oklahoma to Claude and Dora (Williams) Williams. As a young girl, she grew up in Idabel where she attended schools. Through the years, she lived in several towns while working as an over-the-road truck driver. In 1972, she moved to Oswego.
She married Wiley Mahan. They later divorced. She and James Edings were married. They later divorced. On December 12, 1977, she and Norman Richard King were married in Miami, Oklahoma. Following retirement, they spent the winters in Arizona and summers in Washington. In 2000, the couple moved to Chetopa. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2002.
She was a member of the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and flowers.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:00 until service time.
