Clinton K. "Clint" Myers, 97, of Parsons, died at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons, where he had resided since November 10, 2006. He had been in failing health.
He was born November 10, 1909 in his rural family home between Sedan and Waneta, Kansas, one of eight children to George Edmond Myers and Lynn (Banning) Myers. He grew up on the family farm in the Sedan and Waneta area and attended country school.
As a young man, he worked at the W.P.A. He moved to Carthage, Missouri, where he met Edith Jones. They were married in 1934 in Lamar, Missouri. She preceded him in death July 7, 1968.
In 1940, they moved to Wichita, where he worked for Boeing Air Craft as a sheet metal worker. He helped build the first B-29 that bombed Tokyo in World War II. After the war, he opened a restaurant and bar in Granola, Dexter and Moline, Kansas.
They later moved to Bel Garden, California, where he opened a restaurant. In 1953, they moved to Parsons. He helped build the Parsonian Hotel and then opened the "Home Café" in Parsons. He later worked as a mill operator at the Jarboe Lackey Feed Lot until retiring in 1970. After his retirement, he continued working in various construction jobs until he was 90.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, cooking and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Willis, on August 3, 2006; four brothers, Art Myers, Paulie Myers, Leab Myers and Dexter Myers; three sisters, Vella (Myers) Marker, Dean (Myers) Hilburn, Rita (Myers) Hankerson; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2007, at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
